He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Gibson and Esther Gibson-Scattergood (Whitehill); his wife Dorothy J. McKenzie; his son John Robert Gibson; and his brother Robert Gibson.
He is survived by: his friend Church; and his children, Connie Lou Morris (Lewis) of Salem, Penny Jo Jackson (Terry) of Salem, Tammy Jane Reno of Lisbon, Danny Craig Reno (Rose) of Salem and Kenneth Ray Gibson (Melissa). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
