He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Schantz and Betty Ann Schantz (Strong); and his siblings, Louis, Lawrence Schantz, Janet McDulin and Wanda Kendel.
He is survived by: his wife Georgia Schantz (Day); his children, Kelly Cook (Bill), Catherine Marasch (Mark), Stephen Schantz (Laura) and Brian Schantz (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Brandon, Brittney, LeeAnn, Marie, Mitchell, Morgan, Kaitlyn, Joel, Zach, Reece, Logan and Allyson; his great grandchildren, Ellianna and Mycroft; and his siblings, Mike Schantz (Toni), Pat Gross (Gary), Susan Holbrook (Greg), Carol Reed and Marilyn Thompson (Jim). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
