He was predeceased by: his parents, DeWight E. Reed and Eunice E. Reed Sr. (Bush); his children, Vonnie "Rusty" Reed Jr. and Angie Berry; and his son-in-law Donnie Polzin.

He is survived by: his wife Deborah Reed (Taylor); his children, Kimberly Cullins, Bobbie Jo Thomas (Lowell), Teresa Hess (Brett), Missie Reveal, Shannon Purk (Noel), Kathy Jo Thomas (Roger) and Michael Reed (Silvia); his siblings, Dewight E. Reed, Jr., Charles B. Reed, Jeannie Beatty (Gary), Brenda Shonkwiler (Ron) and Debbie Martin (Bill); and his pet Norman. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren.
