With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Larry August Korpi of Saint Marys, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 29, 2024 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Urho August and Toini Korpi; his former wife Janet Foreman of Mansfield, PA; his wife Tabitha Derloshon; his children, Michael Korpi (Nicole) of Ft. Wayne, IN and Diane Stitz (Michael) of Chesterton, IN; his grandchildren, Jonathan, Kirsten, Nicholas Korpi of Ft. Wayne and Kennedy Burris (Zach) of Chesterton, IN; his great grandchild Colt August Burris; his siblings-in-law, Barbara Bell and Richard Bell; and also, Larry, Audi Scarpella (Colleen), Cory Scarpella (Breanna) and AJ Scarpella (Brittany).

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home (314 W High St, St Marys, OH 45885). A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Miller Long and Folk (314 W High St, St Marys, OH 45885). A burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at the Canfield Cemetery (94 NY-224, Van Etten, NY 14889).

Wayne York wrote a sympathy message

“Courtney Burdette, a former Agway supervisor from Syracuse called to advise that Michael had called him with the news. I worked for Agway from 1989 until 1999, managing the Apex Bag Company packaging plant at Wapakoneta, Ohio. I worked with Larry the whole time. First was when he was managing the pet foot plant at Waverly, NY. He came to manage the St. Marys pet food plant on the day that Bill Clinton was elected President. Larry and I were in close touch always. A real pleasure to know.”
