He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Lawler and Audrey Lawler (Sweigart); and his wife Verlene Albers. He is survived by: his children, Cindy Widner (Dane) of Saint Marys, Willard Lawler (Amy) of Springboro, Ohio, Jane Menker (Rob) of Saint Marys and Shawn Lawler (Sandy) of Troy, Ohio.. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
