He was predeceased by: his brother Kenneth; his nephew Shawn; his parents-in-law, Sylvester and Madonna Homan; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Schanbacher and Harold Uhlenhake.

He is survived by: his children, Kevin Hemmerich and Krisann Franck (Wesley); his grandchildren, Grant, Emma and Caroline; and his parents-in-law, June Lindquist (Al), Mary Addison (Jerry), Joan Uhlenhake, Jane Heitkamp (Michael), Leo Homan (Jane) and Cathy Paschen (Brad). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Center for Neurological Development, Cancer Association of Mercer County or State of the Heart Care.
