He was predeceased by: his parents, William Samples and Sara Samples. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Samples; his daughters, Cathy Nogay (Joe) of Pinehurst, NC and Karen Olson (Doug) of Flat Rock, NC.; and his grandchildren, Evan Nogay (Annelise) of Charlotte, NC, Camden Nogay (Dylan) of Los Angeles, CA, Stephen Olson of Concord, NC and Alec Olson of Flat Rock, NC..
