He is survived by: his wife Regina; and his children, Dennis (Hilarie), Anne, David (Melissa), Kathryn (Michael Wesley), Matthew, Charles (Kumi), Frederick, Donald (Melanie), Margaret and Jason. He is also survived by his siblings, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
He was the recipient of the Bronze Pelican Award at St. John's Cathedral in Cleveland. 'This Diocesan recognition is given to adults who have made a significant and outstanding contribution to the spiritual development of Catholic youth in the Boy Scouts of America.' While this was a scouting-related award, it represented a mindset that extended into all areas of his life.
