He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Newland and Josie Shultz Newland; and his siblings, Jean Driscoll, Charles Coder, Carolyn Pritchet, Marge Hamilton and Larry Newland.
He is survived by: his sister Barbara Smith (Don) of Wilmington; and his close friend Billy Dryer of Sabina. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
