He was predeceased by: his parents, Spencer Spurgeon and Freda Pierce Spurgeon; and his brother Donald Spurgeon. He is survived by: his wife Nina Ward Spurgeon; his children, Gary Spurgeon (Crystal) of Washington, CH, Josh Smith of Lebanon and Niki Smith; his siblings, Neil Spurgeon (Donna) of Grove City and Connie Balou of Hamilton; his grandchildren, Madison, Gabriel Spurgen, Trent Ater (Kayla), Emmalee Glispie (Dylan Moore), Walker Glispie, Makenzie, Jacob and Le'Anne Smith; his great grandchild Alexandria Ater; and his pets, Harley, Mary Pierce, Bob Pierce and Numerous.
