She was predeceased by: her parents, James Edgar and Lillian Opal Spurlock Byers; her husband William "Bill" Howard Burns; her grandson Bart Curtis; and her siblings, David Byers and June Phillips.

She is survived by: her children, Sharon Hill (Dale) of Frankfort, Scott Burns (Marty) of Washington and Joy McIntosh (James) of Sabina; and her grandchildren, Brett Curtis (Tonya) of Hillsboro, Judson Burns (Lindsay) of Chillicothe, Carrie Spears (Ryan) of Washington and Sara Summers (Nick) of Lewis Center. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
