He is survived by: his children, Ted Backus (Susie) of Delaware, Cindy Meeker (Mike) of West Portsmouth, Patti Reeves (Bob) and Julie Hairston of Hilliard. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
