He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Christophel and Anita Christophel (Faske); and his siblings, Butch Christophel (Leslie), Norma Rhodes (Dusty) and Vera Christophel.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy "Dottie" Freeman Christophel; his son Ralph Christophel II; his stepchildren, Diana Sizemore (Ron), Paul Morehouse (Rhonda) and Tony Hughes (Angi); and his siblings, Dennis Christophel (Robin), Betty Lou Christophel and Donna Taylor (Dave). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
