He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hitt and Rena Hitt (Morman); his wife Novella Hitt; his siblings, Everett, Richard, Howard Hitt, Jennie Lou Applegate, Edna Sparks, Juanita Hamm, Georgia Kegley and Nelly Gantley; and his daughter-in-law Mary Hitt.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Hitt and Tammie Wingerberg (Tim); and his stepdaughters, Leisha Workman (Arthur), Betty Paul (Dan), Pam Burge (Mike) and Eva Denise Sulfridge. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
