He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell G. Matthews and Bernice Matthews (Moore); his granddaughter Amber Smith; his brothers, Richard J. Matthews and Pete; his siblings-in-law, Donna Bennett, Bobby Robertson and Daisy Hayden; and his pet Peppy.
He is survived by: his significant other Thelma (Robertson); his children, Karen Anderson (Jimmy), Robert Matthews (Robin), Tammy Frost (Joe), Kevin Frost and Connie Hall (Phillip); his grandchildren, David Matthews (Lisa), Michael Smith (Marisa) and Christina Hemberger (Todd); and his pet Bella. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
