He was predeceased by: his parents, Shirlen Carnes and Emaline Anderson Carnes; and his brothers, George Carnes and John Carnes. He is survived by: his close friend Anna Schissler; his sons, Alvin W. Carnes and Joe Carnes; and his siblings, Emaline Weyand, Leota Cramer (Charles), Wanda Reed (John), Dorothy Boso (Earl), Homer Carnes Sr., Russell Carnes and Daniel Carnes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
