He was predeceased by: his parents, Estus C. Fleming and Grace Leah Fleming (Mottinger); his former wife Elizabeth Fleming (Croy); his wife Helen Garwood Fleming (Landwehr); his brothers, Ivan Fleming and Leo Fleming; and his stepdaughter Judy Garwood.
He is survived by: his children, Laura Akel (Musa) of Jacksonville, Florida and Donald Fleming of Atlanta, Georgia; and his stepchildren, James Garwood (Peggy) of Ashland City, Tennessee and Joan Brehm (Lindain) of Celina, Ohio. He is also survived by seven step-grandchildren; twenty-two step great grandchildren; and two step great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Norman's memory may be sent to the Cancer Association of Mercer County, 218 South Main Street, Celina, OH 45822.
