He was predeceased by: his father Donald Pontsler; his parents-in-law, Ron and Marilyn Freeland; and his brother-in-law Tony Freeland. He is survived by: his sons, Scott Pontsler, Van Wert and Stephen Pontsler (Shauna); his mother Ethel Pontsler (Mosher); his siblings, Dave Pontsler (Charity), Karen Thomas (Clarence) and Jodi Lamparelli (Rich); and his grandchildren, Greyson, Gavin, Paxton and Quinn.
During the pandemic, Jeff enjoyed building and donating over 600 birdhouses for children around the Rockford area.
