It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Denny J. Gibbons of Rockford, Ohio, who passed away on April 22, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Gibbons and Clara Gibbons (Schaadt); his son Kevin Cheek; and his sisters, Lila Lee Roe, Darlene Gibbons and Monica Felver.
He is survived by: his wife Gayle Gibbons (Winhover) of Rockford; his children, Penny Canary (Chris) of Celina, Rodney Cheek (Faye) of Willshire, Holly Deitsch (Steve) of Rockford, Brent Cheek (Jennifer) of Fort Wayne, Monty Gibbons (Jessica) of Rockford and Brandy Wolford (Wesley) of Celina; his grandchildren, Slade Canary (Kerri), Afton Strobel, Megan Harris (Tom), Tyler Deitsch (Becca), Holden Cheek, Logan French (Caleb), Tiffany Sneddon (Andy), Chase Wolford (Maddy), Remmie Wolford, Lydia Gibbons, Kylie Gibbons, Hunter Scott and Jackson Scott; and his brother Tom Gibbons (Carol) of Celina. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory (722 S Washington St, Van Wert, OH 45891). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
