He is survived by: his wife Thelma Carrel; his sons, David L. Carrel of Millcreek, WV and Joe L. Carrel of Rockbridge; his grandchildren, Nathan, Veronica and Dakota; and his siblings, Dino Carrel of Enterprise, Wanda Petty and Edna Brown.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
