He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Smith and Maxine Smith (Franks); and his siblings, Darol, Ervan, Ronald, Barbara Smith, Donna Corbin and Karen Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Kristi Kay Welty; his daughters, Elora "Lori" Kibler (Matthew Brown) of Frisco and Cheryl Waltermier (Donald) of Fostoria, Ohio; his brothers, Dale Smith of Wayne, Roger Smith of Wayne, Norman Smith (Norma) of Rudolph and Kenneth Smith (Sally) of Risingsun, Ohio; his brother-in-law Butch Corbin of Bradner, Ohio; his granddaughters, Josselynn Sweet (Adam), Raychelle Gerstenberger (Kip), Alexandra Roberts (Geoff), Brenna Waltermier and Devon Bonilla (John); his great grandchildren, Lexi, Trey, Amelia, Lucy, Kaelyn, Ryder, Maylynn, Gabe, Grace and Isabelle; his friend Al Huff (Jennifer) of Risingsun; and also, Samantha, Morgan and Paisley.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Barndt Funeral Home (121 W South St, Wayne, OH 43466). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be made to the Elmwood FFA or Habitat for Humanity.
