It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James J Schmitz of Risingsun, Ohio, born in Fostoria, Ohio, who passed away on February 25, 2021, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Norbert Schmitz and Helen Schmitz (Goshe); and his brothers, Robert and Paul. He is survived by: his wife Janet K. Murphy; his children, Dennie Schmitz (Michelle) of Wayne, Ohio and Lisa Smith (Bruce) of Paulding, Ohio; his brother Earl Schmitz (Alma) of Carey; his sister-in-law Diane Schmitz of Carey, Ohio; his sister Jeannie Pieracini (Bud) of Kalamazoo, Michigan; his grandchildren, Jessica Gurkan (Emir), Nicole Miller (Gabriel "Ace"), Chelsie Schmitz, Emily Schmitz and Jacob Schreiner; and his great grandchildren, Ian, Kelsey and Gabe.
Due to Covid-19 face masks will be required and social distancing will be observed.
