He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Thompson and Lucille Thompson (Mcgown); his daughter Melissa Thompson Taul; and his siblings, George, Louis, James, Ronald Thompson and Geraldine Egler.

He is survived by: his wife Diana Thompson (Pritchett); his children, Milton Thompson (Denise) of Wilmington, Dean Thompson of Ripley, Ohio, Robyn Thompson of Cincinnati and Valerie Durham (Robert) of Dayton, Ohio; his grandchildren, Ka'Shira, Jason, Bryson, Bethany, Jarrin and Deja; and his sisters, Linda Lofton of California, Charlene Dunson of Dayton, Ohio., Sandra Conyers of Dayton, Ohio. and Myra Rice of Dayton, Ohio.. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
