He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Hurt and Josephine Lewis Hurt; his wife Martha Garnes Hurt; and his siblings, James Wilford and Sandragean Roberson Birchfield.
He is survived by: his children, Brian Hurt and Sharon Hurt; his grandchildren, Brian Christopher Hurt and Savannah Hurt; and his brothers, Wesley Hurt Jr., Dennis Hurt and Michael Hurt (Tina). He is also survived by great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the New Hope Baptist Church in Arius' memory.
