It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thelma Mathys of Richwood, Ohio, who passed away on December 15, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Thelma Mathys to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Wood and Mildred Sarver Wood; her brother Furby; her husband James Martin Mathys; her son Carrol Mathys; and her siblings, Margaret Kincaid and Carl Wood.
She is survived by: her children, Lorna Poling of Richwood, Zane Mathys (Cathy) of Bellefontaine, Morgan Mathys (Paula) of Peoria, Rhonda Winkle (Robin) of Marion, Jonathan Mathys (Brenda) of Bellefontaine, Rochelle White (Pat) of Jackson, Tammy White (Darren) of Richwood and Joseph Mathys (Emily) of Marysville; her sisters, Elnora Richardson of Marysville, Arlene Perkins of Marysville and Ruth Foreman (Bill) of Marysville; her daughter-in-law Joyce Mathys of West Mansfield; her grandson Pastor Darnell Mathys; and also Larry Burchette. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Covid precautions will be practiced at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Carrol Mathys Compassion Fund at Grace Chapel House of Prayer in care of the funeral home.
