It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert William Schmelzer (Richwood, Ohio), born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on March 6, 2018, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his former wives, Florine (Mathys) and Dorothy (Mounts); his brothers, Ralph Eugene Schmelzer, Donald Edward Schmelzer and Homer Edsel Schmelzer; and his children-in-law, Sharon Schmelzer and Harold Blanton.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Michael Schmelzer of Richwood and Jo Neil Ann Gibson (Frank) of Richwood; his grandchildren, Michael Allen Schmelzer (Rhonda) of Richwood, Kevin Eugene Schmelzer (Lovetta) of Marion, April Joanna Krawczyk (Jeff) of Richwood, Tami Hughes, Lorrie Kohler (Shane), Amy Fish, Debra Spidel (Terry White) and Vickie Vernon (Bart); and his great grandchildren, Ashley Schmelzer of Marion, Shaynna Butcher (David) of Richwood, Paul Schmelzer of Marion, Pamela Schmelzer of Marion, Jaron Schmelzer (Janna) of Zanesfield, Cody Yates of Richwood and Chelsey Jones (Nate) of Galion. He is also survived by great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandsons. 9 step great-great-grandchildren.
