He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Ruta; his parents, Viktoras and Teofile; his siblings, Giedre Ješmantas (Donatas) and Jonas "Johnny" Degutis; his siblings-in-law, Birute Vedegys (Jonas), Gintas Mekesa (Karen), Vitalija Butkus (Benny), Peter Mekesa (Susan), Vyto Mekesa (Kathleen) and Don Murauskas (Kathy); his great-uncles, Dede, Kaz, Chase, Erik, Colin, Lindsay (Abby), Luke, Brian, Kieran, Anika, Rowan, Jack, Vija, Reaghan, Jonas, Rasa, Declan, Emilija, Henry, George (Vivian), Harper, Miles (Cecilia), Aria and Ashton; and his grandchildren, Vytautas, Lukas Laniauskas, S. J. and Victor. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews and god-children.
