She was predeceased by: her spouse DeForest Brown; her parents, Alonzo Frazier and Gladys Frazier; her brother Gerald Frazier; her sister-in-law Theresa Frazier; and her grandson Christopher Thigpen (Brandy).
She is survived by: her children, DeForest E. (Duane E.), Darryl E., Deane E. and Some of Maxine's; her sister Erma E. Heard (late James); her children, Duane (Cynthia) and Denise Thigpen (Charles); her daughters-in-law, Denise Brown and Celeste Brown; her grandchildren, Aaron, Rachel, Darryl Jr. (Amber), Chamika, Sarah, Natasha, Christina, Jemal and Joshua; and her sister-in-law Mary Ellen Brown. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and several friends and extended family.
