He was predeceased by: his father Robert L. Brooks; and his grandparents, Leonard, Reba Brooks, Stanley and Sophie Vicznesky.
He is survived by: his wife Carroll Brooks (Valentine); his son Garey R. Brooks Jr.; his brothers, John A. Brooks and Leonard S. Brooks; his grandson Nicholas G. Brooks; and his brothers, Tess Nemec and Shane D. Valentine. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
