He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Tate and Fearl Tate (Harris); and his siblings, Dwight, Jimmy Tate, Esther Tate, Frani Tate, Virginia Norris and Judy Smith.

He is survived by: his siblings, Paul Tate of Canal Winchester, Cathy Davis of Canal Winchester and Rita Tate of Groveport.
