He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thurston and Louie Grey Sargent; his wives, Oreta Sargent and Ellen Sargent; and his siblings, Junior, Leo, John, Dwight Sargent, Jean Hopkins, Patty Smith and Rosealee Sargent.
He is survived by: his siblings, Herman Dale, Tracy, Charles and Kathern; his children, Gary (Patty Sargent), Jerry (Jeannie Sargent), Helen (Bobby Williams), Lowell (Pamela Cordial) and David (Carol Cordial); and his grandchildren, Kyle, Sarah, Reuben, Heather, Beth, Jennifer, Jeremy, Kristin and Tosha.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Reynoldsburg FWB Church.
