She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas B. Gernert and Beatrice Gernert (Burger). She is survived by: her husband Mike Oberlander; and her siblings, Sandra Rau (Ron) of Old Fort and Tom Gernert (Linda) of Idaho. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
