She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Whitlatch and Clara Rosalie McVey Whitlatch; her husband Donald L. Swaney; her siblings, William Whitlatch and JoAnn Deems; and her niece Roberta Lee.

She is survived by: her sons, Donald Swaney (Ellen), Charles Swaney, Michael Swaney (Cheryl) and Mark Swaney (Kerri). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty's memory will be appreciated to the O'Neill Center, 333 Fourth Street, Marietta, OH 45750.
