He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Smith and Betty Stutler Whited; his sister Brenda Sue; and his grandparents, Conda, Goldie Smith, William and Jesse Stutler.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Marie Marklow Smith; his children, Phillip Smith of Elizabeth, WV and Courtney Smith of North Carolina; his stepdaughter Ashley Ragon of Florida; and his half-brother Randy Whited of Florida. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
