He is survived by: his wife Barbara M. Schmid; his children, Angela Cook (Leonard), Columbus, Gwen Wortham (Andrew) of Reily, Douglas Nichols of Reily and Eric Nichols (Katrina); and his sisters, Joyce Hertel (Thomas) and Bertha Lainhart (Kenneth). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
