He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Hay and Nora H. Hay (Maxie); his wife Gertrude E. Haynes; his daughter Barbara Ann Fairchild; and his brothers, Harold and Britt Hay.

He is survived by: his son Kenneth L. Hay (Lou Ellen); his son-in-law Garry Fairchild; his grandchildren, Melissa, Kenny, Jr., Stephanie, Kevin, Angie and Beth; and his brothers, Willard Hay, Ray, Donald Hay and Richmond Dale.
