He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hackney and Lilly Hackney (Smallwood); his wife Sharyn Sweitzer; and his brothers, Gary, Dennis and Norman.
He is survived by: his brother Gene Hackney (Ilene); his children, Jodi Buehner (Dan) of Chardon and Cristine Boyd (Brian) of Edinburg; and his grandchildren, Michael, Eric, Kaelyn Cardina, Daniel and Lauren Boyd.
