He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Byler-Mercer; his sons, Scott Mercer (Song Pun) of Fremont, CA, Sean Mercer of Kent Ohio and Patrick Mercer (Kelly) of Salem; his granddaughters, Eleanor Mercer, Leah Mercer and Olivia Mercer; and his siblings, Jerry Mercer (Carol) of Manchester, MD, Sara Mercer-Sells of Dover, OH and Kathy Irwin of New Philadelphia. He is also survived by 6 step-children, 9 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren.
