He was predeceased by: his father William Francis Copas; his grandson Mikey Orban; his sisters, Betty Ann Goddard and Diane Blankenship; and his brothers-in-law, James Comer, Harold Conley and Robert Harr.
He is survived by: his wife Lelia Cockrell Copas; his children, Tonya Cooley (Wayne), Kim Swayne (Alan), Mark Copas (Shari), Cyndi Jenkins (Kevin), Kevin Copas (Renee), Jay Dee Copas (Jennifer) and Keith Copas; his grandchildren, Lisa, Blake, Garrett, Savannah, Austin, Gavin, Valerie, Jesse, Nate, Jared, Jaxon, Lauren, Katie and Jamie; and his siblings, Roger Copas (Delores) of Cridersville, Eileen Comer of Jacksonville, Sue Conley of Dayton and Gail Harr of Dayton. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
