He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben C. Mears and Elizabeth Mears (Hoerner); his daughter Rene Blair; and his grandson Ian Blair. He is survived by: his wife Brenda (Massie); his children, Russell A Mears, Jr. (Lisa), Bryan A. Mears, Julie L. Roberts and Johnathan A. Mears (Leslie); his grandchildren, Rebecca Maxson (David), Benjamin A. Mears, Katherine L. Mears and Luke A. Mears; and his great grandchildren, Willow Blair and Drew E. Maxson.
