He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman E. Smith and Ruth Smith (McCoy); and his siblings, Franklin Smith (Pat), Nevin Smith, John Smith (Carol), Joe Smith (Naomi), Sarah Miller (Bob) and Gary Kinninger (Barbara).
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann Smith (Dubbs); his daughters, Cathy Smith of Quincy and Jill Smith of Jackson Center; and his sister-in-law Peggy Smith.
