She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hecht and Ursul Hecht (Magateaux); her husband James Stengel Sr.; her son Dale Payne; her stepson Brent Stengel of Sidney, Ohio; and her siblings, Margaret Friesthler, Ralph, Paul, Vernon, Donald and Barbara Hecht.
She is survived by: her children, William Payne Jr. (Rose) of McCartysville, Linda Zimmerman (Kent) of St. Paris, Ohio, Laura Thomas (Steve) of Sidney, Ohio and Maggie Marguis of Quincy, Ohio; and her stepchildren, Vickie Stengel of South Carolina, Sandra Hoover of Sidney, Ohio and James Stengel Jr. of Sidney, Ohio. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rosewood Rescue Squad.
