He was predeceased by: his parents, Brantie Gross and Gertrude Gross (Dilley); his wife Etta Loraine Gross (Deskins); and his siblings, Ruby, Ruth, Jan, David and Stephen.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Baum (Carl) of Massillon, Robert Gross (Katie) of Quaker City, Diana "Cricket" Gross of Barnesville and Timothy Gross of Quaker City; his grandchildren, Daniel Baum (Melissa), Christina Baum, Jeremy Baum (Amanda), Robert Lee Gross (Lasionna), Malissa Gross (Charles), Brantie Gross, Gregory Gross, William Cody Gross and Michael Caleb Gross (Nikki); and his siblings, Jean McCourt, Robert D. Gross, Elliet Gross (Nancy) and Bill Gross (Frances). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19, the family has asked the public to please wear face masks for visitation on Friday, September 17, 2021 from noon until 2pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.
