He was predeceased by: his parents, Orvin Nelson and Mary Nelson (Whitt); his wife Ola Gay Nelson (Cooper); and his siblings, Willis, Clayton, Dewey, Leslie Nelson, Beulah Nelson, Ritta Whitt and Betty Young.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pamela Portnick of Quaker City and Roxanna Sielski (Alan) of Woodland Hills, CA; his siblings, June Crawford (Bob) of Cincinnati, OH, Violet Fisher (Ted) of Jonesborough, TN, Charlie Nelson (Leona) of Mineral Wells, WV and Homer Nelson (Nancy) of Pounding Mill, VA; and his grandchildren, Jackie Adkins (John) of Cambridge, Stephanie Portnick (Bob) of Cambridge, Kayla Taylor of Northfield, OH, Jared Sielski of Woodland Hills, CA, Tate Portnick, John-John, Braiden Adkins and Dallas Taylor.
