He was predeceased by: his parents, William Nelson and Blanche Nelson; his wife Marilyn Westover; and his sister Charlotte Dewey. He is survived by: his children, Linda Laird (David), Gary W. Nelson and Bruce D. Nelson (Anna); his grandchildren, Gary R. Nelson (Sandi), Tiffanie Nelson (Darko), Deon Heasley, Jason Heasley and Tara Heasley; his great grandchild Alana Marie Kelemen; his niece Carol Sage (Lee); and his nephew David Dewey (Cathy).
