With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Karen Sue Hughes of Prospect, Ohio, born in Marion, Ohio, who passed away on February 3, 2022 at the age of 57. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She is survived by: her parents, Robert Ballinger and Joyce Ballinger; her husband Alan Hughes; her siblings, Kenny Ballinger (Darcy), Bobby Ballinger (Lori), Kathy Roberts (Roger), Shelly Seckel (Ronnie) and Kelly Kightlinger (Chris); her children, Shawn Hughes (Megan), Cory Hughes (Molly) and Chelsie Yost (Shawn); and her grandchildren, Mason, Allison, Harrison, Garrett and Grayson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
During the pandemic, when visitor restrictions were in place, she would take the time to sit with patients who couldn't have loved ones there with them.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked if you wish to make any donations, please donate to Nationwide Children's Hospital in honor of Karen Hughes.
