He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray N. Hyre and Rita G. Hyre (Black); and his siblings, Robert Hyre, Shirley and Thomas Hyre.
He is survived by: his wife Irene I. (Pfirsch); his children, Eric Hyre (Amy) of Waldo and Sherella Smith (Tony) of Greencamp; and his siblings, Ray Hyre and Peggy Shaffer of Buckhannon. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.
