He was predeceased by: his father William Henry Clay; his grandchildren, Brandon Clay and Chrissi Marie Holland; his daughters-in-law, Sheri Clay and Rhonda McKeny; and his siblings, Charlie, Shorty, Wilson (Clay), Jane Beckelheimer, Ruby Dazzo, Annie Edwards, Lilly Adkins and Goldie Branch.
He is survived by: his wife Fern Lee Clay; his children, Johnny (Teresa), Dwayne, Danny, Rodney Clay (Kristy) and Nancy Wilks (Eddie); and his sister Marge Bledsoe. He is also survived by three daughters-in-law; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren.
