He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Eugene Charles Mittendorf Sr. and Elsie Mittendorf (Rodermund); his wife Karen; and his brothers, Mel, Michael and Terry.

He is survived by: his children, Julie (Arian) and Brian (Karen); his sister Carol Steffens; and his granddaughters, Abby and Sadie. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
