He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Askew and Marie Heath Askew; and his siblings, John Russell Askew, Donald James Askew and Wanda Askew.
He is survived by: his daughter Katherin Gillispie (Michael Paul); his grandchildren, Bailee and Ellison Gillispie; and his sister Ruth Jean Mullins. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
